Highlights of the 2026/27 season include Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on tour as mezzo-soprano soloist under Gustavo Dudamel, and Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with Filarmonica Banatul Timișoara; opera engagements include Carmen at the National Theatre Prague, Estonian National Opera, and Savonlinna Opera Festival, as well as Jocaste Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex as part of the Realejo e Édipo Rei double bill at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo.

Recent highlights include Fenena Nabucco and Olga Eugene Onegin at the Polish National Opera, Warsaw; Carmen at the National Theatre Prague and Theatro Municipal de São Paulo; Kate Pinkerton Madama Butterfly at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and with the Berliner Philharmoniker; Rosette Manon at Teatro Regio di Torino; Sesto La clemenza di Tito at the Romanian National Opera Bucharest; Orlofsky Die Fledermaus and Polina The Queen of Spades at Opera Română Craiova; Mahler's Symphony No. 3 with the New Mexico Philharmonic; and Verdi's Messa da Requiem, Bruckner's Missa in F, and Rossini's Messa per Rossini with Filarmonica Banatul Timișoara and Philharmonie Luxembourg.

Born and raised in the Republic of Moldova, Lilia Istratii is a graduate of the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chișinău.
