Arena di Verona -Nabucco
L'Ape Musicale
Rafał Siwek, previously heard in the role of Zachariah, confirms his reputation as an excellent interpreter of the role: his voice is not exceptional in terms of timbre or volume, but his qualities as a performer earn the Polish bass the title of one of the best Zachariahs around today. He commands the stage with dignity and confidence and sings with great naturalness, displaying a well-rounded voice that is consistent across all registers, even if he sometimes struggles to reach the higher notes

Rafał Siwek's performance as King René was excellent. Vocally he shows off a well-turned voice of good volume and evocative nocturnal color, which knows how to bend melodiously and pliantly in the folds of the score. Fascinating phrasing, always regal and sculpted, ideal in the depiction of the sovereign in a perpetual state of apprehension about the fate of his daughter

Siwek for his part imposes himself strong also from a long career that allows him to get the best out of even a small role like the King.
