Praised for his full, rounded voice, excellent range, and smooth vocal line, Italian tenor Riccardo Della Sciucca is rapidly establishing himself on major international stages. He made his debut at thr Teatro alla Scala as Nadir in Cherubini’s Alì Babà e i quaranta ladroni, conducted by Paolo Carignani.
Engagements in the 2024/25 season include Rodolfo La bohème at Teatro Marrucino, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Basilica di Sant’Eustorgio in Milan, a Puccini anniversary concert with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, a recital at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 under Yutaka Sado at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center in Japan.
Recent seasons have brought him to theatres such as the New National Theatre Tokyo, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Estonian National Opera, Salzburger Festspiele, and Teatro Regio di Parma. His roles have included Alfredo La traviata, Pinkerton Madama Butterfly, Edgardo Lucia di Lammermoor, Gabriele Adorno Simon Boccanegra, Rodolfo La bohème, Arturo Lucia di Lammermoor, Arbace Idomeneo, Cassio Otello, and Errico Settebellizze in Nino Rota’s Napoli Milionaria.
On the concert platform, he has performed Verdi’s Messa da Requiem in Milan, Rossini’s Petite Messe solennelle at Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria at the Reate Festival.
He has collaborated with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Myung-Whun Chung, Fabio Biondi, Michele Mariotti, and Daniele Rustioni. A winner of the Adriana Maliponte and Angelo Loforese International Opera Competitions, Riccardo Della Sciucca is a graduate of the Accademia di Alto Perfezionamento del Teatro alla Scala.
