Tiroler Festspiele Erl - Rusalka
L'ape musicale
The young bass-baritone Thomas Faulkner is truly formidable in the role of the Spirit of the Waters, with his soft, well-projected and refined voice; he portrays an immense figure, a wise man with a noble heart, saddened by his daughter's reckless choice, much more human than humans. More than a singer, Faulkner seems like an intellectual to whom nature has given the gift of voice, and he is particularly striking for the depth of his interpretation
Oper Frankfurt - Otello
Opera Wire
Thomas Faulkner, playing the role of the rich industrialist, Elmiro, cut an imposing figure, both physically and vocally. His large frame and strong bass allowed him to command the stage, perfectly reflecting his lofty status. Although he has a big voice it is also very flexible, which enabled him to produce a nuanced performance that captured his happiness, anger, rage, and frustrations
