Andrii Kymach stars in Boris Godunov at the Royal Ballet and Opera

Tonight is the opening night of Boris Godunov at the Royal Ballet and Opera, in which Andrii Kymach sings Andrei Shchelkalov. Famous for his professionalism in Russian repertoire since his stentorian rendition of Tomsky's aria when he took victory at the Cardiff Singer of the World competition, Andrii returns to Covent Garden after his celebrated debut as Escamillo in the 2023/2024 season.

Andrii joins this revival of Richard Jones' production under the baton of Mark Wigglesworth, with Sir Bryn Terfel in the title role. This sold-out opening night is Andrii's seconds highly-anticipated production of a Russian opera this year, following his highly successful run as Onegin at the Canadian National Opera earlier in the year.
