Szymon Mechliński appears at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall on 23rd July, performing Karol Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales under the baton of Ryan Bancroft. Praised for his “rich, powerful baritone” and “beautifully burnished timbre,” Mechliński’s appearance at one of the world’s most renowned classical music festivals will be an opportunity to champion the music of one of Poland’s most important composers before an international audience.
Looking ahead, Mechliński continues an exciting trajectory in the 2026/27 season. Highlights include Lescaut in Manon Lescaut at Teatro Real Madrid, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Ford in Falstaff and Scarpia in Tosca at the Polish National Opera, Król Roger in a concert performance of Szymanowski’s masterpiece with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Der Heerrufer des Königs in Wagner’s Lohengrin at The Dallas Opera, and a return to one of his signature roles, Marcello in La bohème at Seattle Opera, where he will appear alongside fellow MKI artist Long Long as Rodolfo.
