Victoria Karkacheva debuts at Salzburger Festspiele as Dorabella in Così fan tutte

Victoria Karkacheva makes her Salzburger Festspiele debut this summer as Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte, premiering on 6th August under the baton of Joana Mallwitz. Directed by Christof Loy, the acclaimed production runs through 29th August.

Praised for her “appealing, velvety mezzo” and her “majestic, wide-ranging voice,” Karkacheva's Salzburg debut crowns a remarkable 2025/26 season that has showcased the breadth and versatility of her artistry. She opened the season as Venus in Tannhäuser at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, returned to the role of Charlotte in Werther with the Canadian Opera Company, and made her role debut as the title heroine in Carmen in both Vienna and Paris.

The 2026/27 season continues this impressive trajectory, with highlights including her Metropolitan Opera debut as Neris in Medea, a return to Bayerische Staatsoper as Polina in The Queen of Spades, to Paris as Sonyetka in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, and a performance as Hanna in Rimsky-Korsakov's May Night in Lyon.
