Vladislav Sulimsky brings his acclaimed Baron Scarpia to the Deutsche Oper Berlin's production of Tosca, opening on 6th September. Boleslaw Barlog's staging, celebrated for its historical accuracy, opens the season under the baton of Leonardo Sini, with performances continuing through 29th September.

Sulimsky's Scarpia was most recently seen this past summer, in Glyndebourne's first-ever staging of Tosca. His performance was hailed for its “satanic charisma [which] gave the arch-villain some contemporary twist,” while his "voice and characterisation were both more sinuous than relying on brute force, which made him even more chilling."

Sulimsky brings that same performance to Berlin, and will return to the production next year, reprising the role of Scarpia for three further performances on 1st, 3rd and 10th April 2027.
