Aigul Akhmetshina and Timur Zangiev starring at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden

Tonight, Aigul Akhmetshina returns to the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden for a New Year's Eve concert alongside star tenor Piotr Beczała. Entitled ''A Spanish Night'', this concert features arias and duets from composers such as Massenet, Lehár, Manuel De Falla and, of course, Bizet. The world's favourite Carmen, Aigul and Piotr sing a centrepiece of the opera's famous scenes to provide the heart of this special New Year's celebration.

Under the baton of Timur Zangiev, the Philharmonie Baden-Baden will fill their home house, the largest in Germany, complementing the profound, rich voices of the soloists. It is Timur's debut in the house, with the celebrated young conductor assuming an authoritative musical command over the evening's festivities. Aigul is delighted to return to the house following a celebrated debut as Polina in the 2022 Queen of Spades. The house itself admits that it ''has for her dark timbre'' - tonight she transports wintry, festive Baden-Baden to the warmth of the Iberian night to summon in 2026.
