Elmina Hasan brings her Cherubino to Teatro dell'Opera di Roma this month, joining the first performances in Italy of Claus Guth's celebrated staging of Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Costanzi. Under the baton of Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, she sings the role on 15th, 17th, 19th and 22nd September.

For Hasan, the production adds a new role to a repertoire that has grown quickly since she emerged as one of the most closely watched mezzo-sopranos of her generation, solidified by her recent naming as one of Bachtrack’s Rising Stars for 2026/27. Her history with the publication is one of praise and acclaim for her “sense of theatre and solid singing," noting that her voice is “not only full and steady across registers, but also malleable.”

Looking to the season ahead, Hasan brings Carmen to the Opéra National de Bordeaux, following her well-received role debut in the part at the Wiener Staatsoper earlier this year. In the new year, she returns to one of her most acclaimed roles, Adalgisa in Bellini's Norma, first at the Wiener Staatsoper, then at Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
