Galina Cheplakova debuts with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin on 13th September, singing the soprano solo in Rachmaninoff's The Bells under Vladimir Jurowski at the Philharmonie Berlin, in a programme that opens the orchestra's Musikfest Berlin season with music by Denisov and Vieru.

Rachmaninoff is familiar ground for Cheplakova. She sang the title role in his opera Francesca da Rimini with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Kirill Petrenko last season, where she was praised for her "gleaming, youthful soprano," which "oscillated between velvety warmth and silken softness."

This debut arrives amid a busy run of house debuts for Cheplakova, who this season also sings Mimì in La bohème at Opera Australia, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin at Teatro Regio di Torino, and Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly at Hamburg State Opera, ahead of further debuts at La Monnaie and the Glyndebourne Festival alongside returns to The Metropolitan Opera and Bayerische Staatsoper.
