Long Long returns as Alfredo Germont to the Canadian Opera Company

Long Long returns to the Canadian Opera Company this month, singing Alfredo Germont in La traviata, opening 18th September at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The production, directed by Arin Arbus and revived here by Mo Zhou, is conducted by Paolo Carignani; Long Long sings the role on 18th and 26th September, and 4th, 7th, 13th, 15th and 17th October.

Long Long's Alfredo is one of undeniable international acclaim. His voice is celebrated for “[possessing] brilliance, power and youthful energy, which suits this impetuous lover perfectly.” His dramatic intentions in the performance are no less celebrated, reaching acclaim for "[imbuing] his character with both the impetuous passion of youth and the sincerity of genuine emotional conflict.”

Looking ahead, highlights of Long Long's 2026/27 season include Don José in Carmen at the Shenzhen Longgang International Arts Center and Rodolfo in La bohème at the Royal Danish Opera House, Theater Bonn, Seattle Opera and Opernhaus Zürich, before the season closes with a return to La traviata at the Bregenzer Festspiele.
