Stacey Alleaume sings Violetta in La traviata with Opera Australia at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne, opening on 8th May with performances until the 16th. Sarah Giles’ dazzling production will be revived with music direction by Giampaolo Bisanti.

An acclaimed Violetta, Alleaume is hailed for her “sovereign performance… pouring her heart into the role and expressing feelings as naturally as breathing. She dispatched the coloratura of her Act 1 set-piece as if born to it and, when renouncing Alfredo, she produced a fine legato that I suspect even the great Maria Callas may have admired.”

Alleaume also brings her Violetta to Europe this summer, singing the role at the Bregenzer Festspiele from 22nd July.
