Victoria Karkacheva makes her house debut at the Canadian Opera Company on 7th May, singing the role of Charlotte in Werther under the baton of Johannes Debus. The production by Alain Gauthier will run until 23rd May. Also featured is Michael Colvin in the role of Schmidt.

Karkacheva’s previous portrayals of Charlotte have been widely praised, noting her “voice with a beautiful timbre, well-controlled in the upper register…portraying a refined and elegant Charlotte.”

Looking ahead, Karkacheva appears in concert with the Orchester Köln in June, followed by Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the Salzburg Festival. Meanwhile, Michael Colvin’s own compositions and arrangements will be featured in recitals in Toronto this summer.
