Timur Zangiev, Łukasz Goliński, and Konu Kim star in Staatsoper Hamburg this February

February is a big month for MK Impresari and the Staatsoper Hamburg, with three of our artists involved in two major productions. Last week, Timur Zangiev conducted the opening night of Pique Dame with Łukasz Goliński singing Tomsky. Willy Decker's 2003 production returned to the Staatsoper on the 7th, with shows on the 18th and then the 1st and 13th March. Timur brings his expertise with this piece, celebrated recently at La Scala, to Hamburg, and Łukasz's ''heroic, tightly honed baritone'' (The Spectator) makes for a regal Russian Count.

On the 15th, Konu Kim sings Roberto, Earl of Leicester, in a revival of last season's production of Maria Stuarda. Konu's renowned skill in the bel canto makes him an ideal fit for this, one of Donizetti's famed Tudor operas. This run is conducted by Stefano Montanari, with its original staging by Karin Beier.
